Faces are paintings; set on display;
merely forms of identification;
energy makes them age and decay;
all are limited in duration.

The mind; within them; seeks to rule;
but, no man is fit to be king;
all who try; are exposed as a fool;

The most arrogant people rarely wear a frown;
pride puts a smile on their face;
while about to turn your world upside down;
they take joy, in your disgrace.

Images Of Reality

Most think we live in a realm of physicality;
outside the creation; just looking in;
instead; we’re images of truth and reality;
we are God’s thoughts; living within.

We were not meant to live in competition;
our souls are just thoughts, above;
prodigals; living in

It Isn’t Just About Me

Sometimes I shop; just to feel I’m alive;
my purpose for living seems gone;
I live in the country, and have to drive;
since my life still must go on.

I watch TV re-runs; I’ve seen before;

Know-It-All

Some seem to be extraordinarily wise;
knowing answers to every question;
within them; there’s little compromise;
they’re adverse to every suggestion.

Their answers come without hesitation;
most from another media;
each in search of praise and adulation;
a walking, talking encyclopedia.

Disdainfully, we dub them

Reality Fading

When young; things were so different;
songs, faded; volume, descending;
at the time; it seemed rather ignorant;
as the music seemed never ending.

Now most music reaches crescendos;
its ending is precise and clear;
describing a similarity in life’s innuendos;
music ends; as death draws near.
