Outside; Looking In
The older I get; the stranger it seems;
no matter what; I can’t win;
my life has become a series of dreams;
while I’m outside; looking in.
Very little, anymore; has my appeal;
I take it, just one day at a time;
sometimes, all of it seems surreal;
every life is an uphill climb.
Though I’m not in this physical realm;
it seems, I might be of it;
with devils and demons at the helm;
only fools would love it.
From outside; continuing to look in;
viewing it with abject curiosity;
I become stunned by every new sin;
growing with each new atrocity.
I feel a continuous growing separation;
this world seems falling apart;
for unforgiveness; there’s no reparation;
all must share God’s heart.
Nearing the end; is like life’s beginning;
I become, once again, a child;
meanwhile; the world keeps spinning;
I’m mesmerized and beguiled.
And yet, I’ve become older and wiser;
I see with vision, from above;
overflowing energy; like a geyser;
life is a volcano called love.
