No Longer A Stranger
When we’re young; death seems far away;
far beyond; the child in a manger;
yet; we all know, death will come someday;
tho death, begins life, as a stranger.
Some children seem born with a fear of death;
while others are reckless and oblivious;
but the thought of taking one’s last breath;
brings about a fear, most insidious.
There is risk, associated in everything we do;
sometimes risk causes a fatality;
death can take place, at any time; for you;
it’s simply a fact of reality.
Some ignore risks; as though totally unaware;
but death can come; anyplace; anytime;
most of us learned; that life isn’t always fair;
every life can always turn on a dime.
When we’re old; we often change our opinion;
suddenly, death doesn’t seem so bad;
we begin to see death as just another dominion;
escaping this world gone mad.
Each of us is appointed a time to die;
whether our hair is straight or curly;
this is our season to laugh and to cry;
but, it’s a sin to choose to die early.
Tho when young; death seems far away;
during our life; we’ve faced danger;
now; since we know, death comes someday;
death is no longer a stranger.
