The Two Faces Of A Friend

Every friend wears at least two faces;
some, wear a great many more;
but they often remain in God’s graces;
especially when we wear four.

Our face is a picture of our personality;
most are defined by their eyes;
faces can sometimes disguise brutality;
wisdom sees every disguise.

Friends usually greet you with a smile;
expecting your smile, in return;
it’s best to stay and talk for a while;
face to face; there’s much to learn.

Many are fooled, by a winsome smile;
believing it’s someone to trust;
many people, fall in love; for a while;
then find, the love is just lust.

Mortal enemies, tend to get in our face;
making no pretense they’re friends;
challenging why we deserve God’s grace;
demanding that we serve their ends.

Talking to friends; we find them up front;
each; demonstrates good grace;
mortal enemies are most always blunt;
never needing more than one face.

Most friends have a face for each season;
demonstrating just how they feel;
both of their faces, are there for a reason;
determine which one is real.
