Hello & Welcome to

A Man In A Raincoat

I feel like a man in a raincoat;
only my naked soul, inside;
guarded by a drawbridge and moat;
feeling I’ve something to hide.

Unapproachable; guarded from others;
feelings not wanting to share;
guarding myself from all lovers;
not believing there’s someone to care.

My raincoat has served

Why Doth Beauty Cry?

Why is it that beauty doth cry;
for tears cannot erase sorrow;
and life too soon passes us by;
as the future becomes tomorrow.

But the morrow brings life anew;
new beginnings birth new love;
through such a process we grew;
and ascended to new life above.

Emotions and feelings

The Measure Of A Man

When we consider how a man is measured;
Samson most often comes to mind;
for his physical strength was treasured;
but is that how a man is defined?

King David, from the Bible, lauded;
with a sling, he challenged a giant;
when he won, he was richly applauded;

"Woody Didn't Do It"

It seems so long ago,
that on our deck, apply;
we would scatter seed,
for hungry birds passing by.

seeking the menu de jour;
offering the best we could do;

and all that eyes have missed.

Thought creates within his realm;

Words

Actions speak louder than any word;
for words are nothing but air;
I know this sounds quite absurd;
but words never go anywhere.

They simply drift off and sail with the breeze;
randomly floating in any direction;
whether forced out, or spoken with ease;
sometimes in anger; other times, affection.

Yesterday's Gone

I had some thoughts of yesterday gone;
why are such things on my mind?
For yesterday still tries to live on;
it seems to be how it’s designed.

I was feeling sad about decisions, made;
I’d like to revisit so many;
but they seem to march by on

Wind Of My Sails

I was sailing free on my ship;
big plans; great future to be;
reality suddenly fashioned a blip;
and the future was sailing me.

The winds were pushing in one direction;
directing me to my chosen docks;
suddenly, due to reality’s correction;
my sails took me towards the rocks.
