It’s Gone
Words flowed slowly through my mind;
almost as though they could speak;
thoughts of how all life was designed;
a vision beyond my critique.
Words that seemed ordained from above;
far too noble to have come from me;
hints about truth, from the Father of love;
thoughts of what, eyes could not see.
Instead of writing; I thought I was reading;
I sensed the truth drawing near;
the love, I could feel; left me weeping;
absolute truth eliminates fear.
As I neared the end, of what I’d written;
I could feel the essence of pride;
claiming that my words, were forbidden;
and those words suddenly died.
I saw all my words suddenly disappear;
as my computer self- erased;
my heart, overwhelmed by the fear;
the words cannot be replaced.
This is a story; that’s often repeated;
when our pride reaches for glory;
all the good, we’ve done, is deleted;
perfection is only God’s story.
I’ll never forget what happened this day;
even though my writing goes on;
I arrogantly thought I’d something to say;
then, suddenly; it’s gone.
