Do Flowers Complain ?

Do the flowers ever complain;
how would we ever know;
they’re often standing in rain;
and rain makes them grow.

Does the robin ever refuse to sing;
with such a melodious voice;
does the eagle, hesitate to take wing;
is it destiny; or his choice?

Do the trees refuse to grow leaves;
fearing they blow in the wind;
when we complain; our Lord grieves;
when will our tyranny end?

We are the flowers in God’s garden;
wilting, under the slightest rain;
constantly clamoring for his pardon;
rather than pray; we complain.

Does the sparrow often demand attention;
so the Master can hear when he cries;
God looks down, from another dimension;
aware of each sparrow who dies.

Why does the spider weave his web;
is he searching for food;
even those spiders, have to be fed;
when in a hungry mood.

Why must a caterpillar, weave a cocoon;
does he realize he’s about to die;
perhaps he knows the grave is a womb;
and he’ll return, as a butterfly.
