Thank You For Loving Me
I can see love, in your smiling face;
though; it wasn’t meant to be;
your love is a gentle breeze of grace;
thank you; for loving me.
Without your smile; I’m lost and alone;
devoid of anyone to care;
in a short while; I’ll be returning home;
I hope I find love there.
This world has suddenly lost all meaning;
its purpose has melted like snow;
within my being; my soul keeps screaming:
“Where did my love of life go?”
Although you’ve been gone many years;
it often seems like yesterday;
your encouragement overcame my fears;
I sense your presence today.
You saw, in me; what I could not see;
you knew; what I didn’t know;
your wisdom and love guided me;
teaching me how love can grow.
You’re my angel, who came, when needed;
lifting me up; when I was down;
now; you’re gone; I’m alone and defeated;
your aspiring poet; and clown.
Your smile carries the passions of love;
as far as your eyes can see;
handed down; from the father above;
thank you for loving me.
