Crying In The Rain

So many things, have come and gone;
there’s no use to complain;
every life sings, its sad, sad, song;
while crying in the rain.

And yet; that’s where my mind goes;
since only my life seems germane;
in the season of death’s ugly throes;
I’m caught, crying in the rain.

What has the future to do with me;
when failures drive me insane;
the past is the summation of reality;
few tomorrows, bear my name.

Although I feel sadness, may break me;
I stubbornly look straight ahead;
longing to see what the future will be;
even long, after I’m dead.

Why must I long for a new tomorrow;
it’s already come once, and gone;
another day; brings only more sorrow;
life singing one more sad song.

Though I try my best to forget the past;
especially memories that haunt me;
why do all of my worst memories last;
it almost seems like they taunt me.

So many things, have come and gone;
there’s no use to complain;
every life sings, its sad sad song;
while crying in the rain.
