An Affront To God

Most don’t understand; “Love thy neighbor”
tho it clearly resonates from above;
it’s God’s command; not merely a favor;
every life is worthy of love.

Each neighbor is sculpted by hands of perfection;
but, each of us has our own flaws;
no life, God created, is worthy of rejection;
before we criticize; take pause.

We’re sent to this lower kingdom, to grow;
not given the authority to judge;
all, while on earth, reap what they sow;
unlike God; man holds a grudge.

Tho we believe; that God always forgives;
we take far too much for granted;
God takes heed of how everyone lives;
all grow, where they are planted.

Most think forgiveness; too much to ask;
for those, choosing wrong over right;
God sees all our sins through our mask;
paying their cost on one dark night.

We always forgive those, we most love;
it’s done out of love; not a favor;
God’s commandment; echos from above;
if you love me; love your neighbor.

Love is the oxygen of consciousness;
tho loving enemies; seems odd;
without love; there’s no righteousness;
unforgiveness; an affront to God.
