Weeds Among The Roses

God planted seeds in his garden above;
seeds that would blossom and grow;
flowers to portray his steadfast love;
He spoke it; and it was so.

The flowers were of exceptional beauty;
only a rainbow, shared their colors;
protecting his flowers, became a duty;
much like that of defending lovers.

A rose was the metaphor of a perfect life;
tempted by the weeds in the ground;
a thorn on its stem; protected from strife;
its beauty shown all around.

Demons cast their own seeds in the garden;
growing weeds, around each rose;
too arrogant to ever request God’s pardon;
for they sought, the King, to depose.

By the demons, the roses became infected;
the thorns on their stems; overcome;
by the unified rebels, the king, was rejected;
they demanded his kingdom be done.

The King gave his orders for stormy weather;
flooding the place of life’s birth
the demons and roses were flooded, together;
and banished; below, to the earth.

The Master replanted the heavenly garden;
thwarting the demons evil attempt;
to his flowers of Light; God granted a pardon;
they could return; but evil was exempt.
