The Zealots
Some demand you accept their opinion;
believing, they always know best;
the universe; they deem as their dominion;
their wisdom survives every test.
Humility is a weakness; they’ve overcome;
pride is the armor, they wear;
intending to humiliate; before they’re done;
to show, how little they care.
They’re not satisfied; just being right;
hammering you with proof;
badgering others both day and night;
even bullies are less aloof.
They act as though kings; upon a throne;
their every wish, is your command;
nothing can make them leave you alone;
much like swimming in quicksand.
Proven wrong; they become much worse;
claiming opinions prove you wrong;
quoting their sources; chapter and verse;
demanding you simply go along.
They won’t allow you to have an opinion;
you must do, as they tell you to do;
they are zealots; and it’s their dominion;
and, there’s no other point of view.
We must see zealots; for what they are;
often they’re purveyors of lies;
sometimes, truth is even more bizarre;
they are the devil, in disguise.
