Many often feel they’re living the dream;
while living a life of excess;
but, nothing in this life, is as it may seem;
in the nightmare of success.
Our values can often become inverted;
what seems right; is wrong;
all around us; the world is perverted;
yet; we choose to go along.
Most judge life, by the amount of leisure;
others; by the treasures of gold;
life was never about money or pleasure;
no soul may be bought or sold.
Earth is nothing; but an illusion of light;
where most of us live, to impress;
where demons roam; both day and night;
in hell’s version of chess.
Whatever one has; it’s never enough;
everyone always wants more;
whether life’s too easy; or too tough.
only the losers keep score.
Success is a measure of how much you steal;
or the cost of your house and car;
dreams are a measure of how good you feel;
nightmares; tell where you are.
Earth is a mystery; austere and bizarre;
don’t let hell, become your address;
always look around; to see who you are;
living the nightmare of success.
