The Aperture Of Love

We’ve been given a window to reality;
the Master created our eyes above;
a gift enabling that we all might see;
the enormity of God’s love.

In the beginning; man and God, aligned;
life was formed in perfection;
the Master’s will, and life,

The Kingdom Of Lies

We live in a kingdom, dominated by lies;
where the truth rarely stands a chance;
a world where the fools, outnumber the wise;
while the majority is held in a trance.

Some liars are referred to as the “fact checkers”
perhaps the greatest liars of all;

The Precipice Of Failure

I stood on the precipice of failure;
looking out upon the abyss;
I cannot imagine death’s allure;
thinking of all that I’d miss.

In the midst of despair; I became excited;
had death become my friend;
for it was clear I was being invited;

Death Takes A Prisoner

Nearly every day, death takes a prisoner;
often times, it’s ten million, or so;
often it’s one who’s not a good listener;
or one who still needs to grow.

Perhaps I should have said it another way;

When two are sanctioned by God above;
the tensions between them lesson;
it becomes clear; they’re falling in love;
they’re a match made in heaven.

The Shadow Of Yesterday

I have become, but a ghost of my past;
I wasn’t sent here to stay;
nothing in this kingdom was meant to last;
and I am the shadow of yesterday.

There have been many, who’ve come before;
and many who have yet to come;

The Ghosts Of Yesterday

Many friends and loved ones simply moved on;
no longer living in this season of today;
my mind can’t conceive of the thought they’re gone;
to me; they’re the ghosts from yesterday.

Many of their past homes are no longer around;
for they,

The Purpose Of Sorrow

Sadness and sorrow are spices of life
essential ingredients of a feast;
tho, as thoughts; they cut like a knife;
bread cannot rise without yeast.

Life must have both sunrise and night;
for both are in some ways equal;
