Loneliness consistently clouds my mind;
illness contributes its share;
thoughts drift; leaving this world behind;
wondering if others care.

Not working today; makes me feel lazy;
overwhelmed by perceived obligation;
thoughts, drifting; the atmosphere hazy;
certainly no time for vacation.

Many have spoken of the light of truth;
as tho it’s a special form of light;
light only allows us to find the proof;
in spite of the darkness of night.

Hiccups occasionally interrupt reality;
tho not usually considered serious;
spasms or burps interfere with neutrality;
sometimes, they can appear delerious.

These metaphoric quirks of nature,
insignificant, rhythmic, interruptions;
a quizzical part of life’s nomenclature;
polite society’s form of disruptions.

As I peered out my back bedroom window;
a bright yellow bird landed on the ground;
for, the backyard was much like a meadow;

demanding truth must abide;

When I was young; I lived in the present;
ignoring the future or past;
an Autumn breeze; it all seemed so pleasant;
I thought it, always, would last.
