Only Sleep

I’m drowning in a sea of indecision;
not knowing where to go;
every life must face constant revision;
suffering wind driven snow.

It seems a season of inclement weather;
my path is slippery and steep;
this journey feels it will last forever;
peace only comes with sleep.

Promises Of Fidelity

Promises are just contracts, unwritten;
lacking the weight of the law;
promises declaring what is forbidden;
last about as long as coleslaw.

Fidelity has become a mere opinion;
originally its role, unbendable;
defined by the one who has dominion;

The Specter Of One World

A ghost of evil pervades this kingdom;
kings and potentates fight for control;
peace offered; in exchange for freedom;
the evil one covets your soul.

An invisible mist spreads over the land;
thoughts of contempt; it must conceal;

As a reckless driver cut in front of me;
