Loneliness Defined
It seems we put labels on everything;
whatever comes across our mind;
describing how an eagle takes wing;
but, how is loneliness defined?
Some people are like a delicate flower;
requiring constant attention;
others; all alone, have a unique power;
their mind; in another dimension.
Loneliness is separation from the flock;
a sheep; lost from the herd;
the mind aware of each tick of the clock;
the flight of a solitary bird.
People, alone, become like a child;
easily lost; when alone;
some thoughts cannot be reconciled;
when emptiness is our home.
Loneliness is a mere cloak we wear;
hiding our inward pain;
emptiness seeks someone to care;
even abuse brings gain.
When lonely; many seek attention;
in whatever way they can;
to them; life becomes in suspension;
the dilemma of a lonely man.
Life wasn’t created to be all alone;
life was created as a pair;
an empty soul; is an empty home;
love needs one to share.
