If I Could Just Be
If I could just be an energy called love;
I’d share it with everyone I know;
slowly falling like raindrops from above;
allowing seeds of love to grow.
If I could wipe away the tears from eyes;
causing people to only laugh, instead;
imagine the consternation and surprise;
all our sorrows are a slender thread.
If I would consider all others as equals;
I would live a more peaceful life;
life wouldn’t require so many sequels;
and I might find the perfect wife.
If love could just be: the tie that binds;
never to ever become erased;
love would find refuge on our minds;
and marriage never disgraced.
If I were content, with whatever I have;
I would never lust to gain more;
the guilt of revenge is a sorrowful salve;
there’s never a way; to even the score.
If I could just learn how to forgive;
my love, would know no end;
for such is the secret in how to live;
making all enemies a friend.
If I could be; what God meant me to be;
forsaking all misdirection;
and, all others do; the same thing as me;
life would become perfection.
