Beyond Heaven’s Gates
Every day, a new life begins;
one, that is fresh and new;
one, with heartaches and sins;
and other baggage to accrue.
I wish I could take away all their pain;
tho such would be a mistake;
they’d lose the joy of dancing in rain;
or surviving an earthquake.
Every life must have ups and downs;
that’s how it’s all meant to be;
most become, both heroes and clowns;
such is the fate of destiny.
Life brings, with it, great expectations;
involving the choices we make;
many just focus on family vacations;
not dwelling on every mistake.
Many think of life, as a mountain to climb;
focused, only on achievement;
others see reality as a kingdom, divine;
focused on death and bereavement.
This physical life was created for a purpose;
a greater kingdom still awaits;
all of us were created for love and service;
beyond heaven’s gates.
Each and every day; another life ends;
for such was meant to be;
in death; that life supernaturally ascends;
soon, that life will be me.
