Beauty Before Age
Some, opening doors, say “Age, before beauty,”
their egos totally engaged;
those walking through; think it’s their duty;
tho a few become outraged.
Most think the remark is simply light hearted;
but, many others see beneath its surface;
the feigned courtesy made them feel outsmarted;
arrogance seemed the underlying purpose.
Beauty is the self portrait; many are painting;
usually when they’re quite young;
wisdom is the beauty of the Master, reigning;
long before you had become.
Beauty, tho being in the eye of the beholder;
is only a matter of what we conceive;
wisdom is the beauty when we grow older;
and when we have faith to believe.
In the kingdom below; we all live by sight;
but, sight is only a pictoral illusion;
within us is evil and darkness of night;
until this season, reaches conclusion.
For, this was to be the season to grow;
a time for all to laugh and to cry;
age brings wisdom, and knowledge to know;
and, death is the time to die.
Death holds beauty within its coccoon;
beauty is the life; God saves;
a butterfly, called man; escapes its tomb;
when God empties all graves.
