A Spoiled Child

Every child of God is a prodigal child;
all seeking to be in control;
in the beginning; thoughts were wild;
each; an ignorant soul.

All of us lacked the wisdom to know;
in ignorance; we were defiled;
all sent to earth; to allow us to grow;
prodigals had to be exiled.

Over the years; our wisdom grew;
so did arrogance and pride;
the spoiled child; God once knew;
was spoiled from inside.

We were arrogant; through and through;
all our humility was gone;
how could corruption be made anew;
if allowed to live on.

Today; few parents ever spank a child;
government has declared it cruel;
now they use drugs or let them run wild;
discipline; no longer a tool.

When old; the spoiled child returns;
corrupted from a life of sin;
how to get ahead is all he learns;
a soul has rotted from within.

Death became the ultimate answer;
only death could excise sin;
corruption was an incurable cancer;
all must die; to live again.
