A Modern Dinosaur

Constant changes make life hard to adjust;
especially as we grow older;
today; there are few things we can trust;
as the world is growing colder.

Many species of life; just can’t take it;
change demands persistence;
new generations, constantly remake it;
some, go out of existence.

Such was the case of the dinosaur;
they ruled the earth for ages;
now they’re gone; here no more;
life’s book, turned new pages.

People are becoming dinosaurs, too;
as the world is passing them by;
I am that dinosaur; passing in revue;
sometimes, I just want to cry.

Honesty is just a thing of the past;
promises, frequently broken;
today, nothing new, is made to last;
warranties, are merely token.

Today, few are willing to sacrifice;
everything ought to be free;
I’m now too old to give advice;
it is what we make it to be.

Changes keep making the world new;
no one today, knows why;
I am that dinosaur; passing in revue;
one day; I too, will die.
