A Medicine Called Laughter
There is an energy; that makes it all better;
in this world of corruption and lies;
accomplished; tickling a nose with a feather;
laughter; usually comes by surprise.
Laughter is the best medicine; or so it’s said;
but it often brings tears to each eye;
though most, who laugh, still turn up dead;
it’s rarely the reason they die.
Laughter as a medicine; is not contraindicated;
and may be applied in all situations;
its widespread use, has always been vindicated;
rarely has it caused complications.
Laughter makes people feel good, all over;
taken; either with or without food;
sometimes it’s used to cure a hangover;
for it always brings a good mood.
Laughter, as a medicine; needs no prescriptions;
and never requires a needle’s injection;
ruled safe and effective, in all jurisdictions;
enjoying every common law protection.
Laughter can never be packaged or sold;
though some, claim it is canned;
laughter can never degrade; nor mold;
often occurring unplanned.
Laughter might be thought a family remedy;
devoid of cost, risk, and quirks;
though it may lack a corporate pedigree;
unlike costly drugs; it works.
