A Labor Of Love

We spend much time with our chosen vocations;
it’s most often our main focus of life;
it becomes preeminent; above other considerations;
often, to the detriment of husband or wife.

Tho our occupation brings needed remuneration;
another labor, of life, stands high above;
our greatest labor often requires a vacation;
for it is a labor of love.

Sometimes we act as tho married to our work;
but our jobs simply come and go;
the passions of love; you cannot shirk;
love is the flower that must grow.

Love is the least understood energy of all;
becoming easily replaced by pride;
for when pride rises; love will then fall;
and the love becomes dead, inside.

The bonds of love require hard work;
they’re sanctioned by God, above;
the passions of love are not life’s perk;
they’re the bonding energy of love.

Marriage requires effort; like any occupation;
all must react like a willing learner;
being ignored leads to constant frustration;
putting your lover on the back burner.

Love was the reason for life’s creation;
crafted in the winds above;
love transcends every other vocation;
every life is a labor of love.
