Your Face

What is so special about your face;
that one you’ve chosen to share;
the picture you’ve elected to embrace;
upon which all others stare?

It’s a constant picture of who you are;
you never leave it behind.
From it you’re known, wide and far;
for it is the face of your mind.

it’s the grill that’s on your physical auto;
the front door of your material home;
it announces you where’ere you go;
the identity by which you are known.

And yet, it’s far more than mere physical;
there’s the face of your soul as well;
and there’s something about it that’s mystical;
that enables all others to tell.

It is the title on the book which is you;
the artist behind your self painting;
forcasting to everyone what you imbue;
potentially, your character, tainting.

Which face shall you display more;
that one who lies inside, hiding;
or the outward appearance others adore?
It’s you who’ll do the deciding.

Ultimately, truth’s the best choice;
all lies become undone;
for your inner self asserts its voice;
and two faces merge into one.
