Yesterday's Dust

Yesterday’s Dust

I’m a molecule of being; blowing in the wind;
my significance; fading away;
my days in the spotlight, have come to an end;
I am the being of yesterday.

An insignificant fleck of yesterday’s past;
blowing in the wind; moving on;
my physical being was not meant to last;
all yesterdays soon will be gone.

I began in a season of hope for tomorrow;
a season that was never to end;
my today became hearrbreak and sorrow;
and now, I am dust in the wind.

Although I fear my returning to dust;
I know, in dust, was life given
my faith assures when in God, I trust;
my dust shall become forgiven.

All life was created as a loving endeavor;
meant, with the Master to dwell;
destined to love; and to live forever;
residing in this dust storm of hell.

Many seek to make their heaven on earth;
thinking this world will last forever;
forgeting their legacy and place of birth;
imagining life here is better.

Those people don’t think God really exists;
in Him; they have neither faith nor trust;
time will run out; if they continue to persist;
making them yesterday’s dust.
