Often defined, a line, or crease in the skin;
indicating the onset of advanced aging;
or, sometimes; a furrowed brow may begin;
to suggest that your mind is engaging.

Whichever the case; one thing is quite sure;
when wrinkles, to your face, have come;
a fact we must face, and come to endure,
the mind and body, in concert, are one.

Wrinkles have come to represent change;
that, once present; now become past;
as with smooth surfaces; they rearrange;
youth, and present, are unable to last.

Wrinkles chronicle life’s long narrow path;
displaying sorrows and regret on the face;
indelible emblems of the Master’s wrath;
outward signs; of inward disgrace.

But wrinkles are also a sign of great gain;
mind and body’s response to learning;
lessons from experience, tend to remain;
and past failures, won’t be returning;

Wrinkles are a new way of seeing things;
a new twist in the pathway of thought;
intellectual detours, that wisdom brings;
changing what’d be, to what ought.

Wrinkles are a sign that Wisdom’s arrived;
at whatever age of life, they begin;
all the trials of life, the soul has survived;
an external sign, of the Master, within.
