Who Can I Blame ?
Who Can I Blame ?
I’ve lived a life; littered with mistakes;
a wrong turn, both here and there;
but I’ve come to expect destiny’s breaks;
believing that no one will care.
How can I erase errant words or deeds;
all that’s been done in my name?
I’ve stabbed someone’s heart; now it bleeds.
Dear Lord, who can I blame?
I look all around me; I’m not alone;
all others, have made mistakes, too.
Yet, every night; when I return home;
who can I blame; maybe you?
Mistakes are common; in a deeply flawed world;
much pain and sadness comes naturally;
in heaven above; when all truth is unfurled;
who will God blame; maybe me?
To say that I’m sorry; and sincerely repent;
what good does it really do;
the past cannot change; like hardened cement;
all things are within God’s view.
To forgive is the most difficult thing to do;
but, forgive, we must; then move on;
for, if you forgive them; God forgives you;
and all past mistakes are then gone.
The dilemma, I have; everyone faces;
perfection is only found in One;
Everyone must live; with past disgraces;
till covered by the blood of God’s Son.
