Whence Comes The Morrow
Whence Comes The Morrow
All of us long for another time; or place;
a time and place devoid of all sorrow;
a place filled with love and saving grace;
so we ask: “Whence comes the morrow?”
We live in a time and place of confusion;
believing in the future, instead;
all our beliefs are revealed as illusions;
when; tomorrow, all will be dead.
We’re told that we must live for today;
for tomorrow may never come;
who in this world can live that way;
knowing soon we’ll succumb.
So most dismiss any thoughts of death;
and losing a husband or wife;
unable to imagine taking a last breath;
most of us focus on life.
Tho we dream of what the future will be;
uncertainty brings the fog of sorrow.
What will I be; when I’m no longer me;
what will I become tomorrow?
There’s little positive, in thinking ahead;
all success is stained by sorrow;
becoming focused on negatives, instead;
thinking, where will I be tomorrow?
All of us long for another time; or place;
a time and place devoid of all sorrow;
a place filled with love and saving grace;
so we ask: “Whence comes the morrow?”
