When I was a child; I spoke as such;
and my life was all about play.
Now I’m a man; resisting God’s touch;
while facing a brand new day.

Faced with a kingdom; blown all apart;
love is needed; this world, to repair;
each occupant mending a broken heart;
few even feeling God’s there.

How can all live in a world so divided;
with hate becoming it’s norm?
Only when such passions have subsided,
can we avoid life’s coming storm.

No longer may answers be found in a book
or a building of brick or stone;
especially when all leaders have forsook;
His admonition we not be alone.

Of each other’s needs we must be aware;
all time for selfishness is gone;
for everyone needs to know we care;
in order that all can live on.

All time is gone for thinking of self;
all greed and pride are forbidden;
past has become a book on the shelf;
and the future is yet to be written.

When I was a child; I spoke  as such;
but that was another day;
Now, others are in need of my touch;
dear Lord, please show me the way.
