What Happened To Yesterday?

What ever happened to yesterday;
it’s been gone for quite a while;
perhaps it’ll come back someday;
or has it become out of style?

Will it become reinvented, tomorrow;
or is tomorrow more of the same;
so many yesterdays, brought sorrow;
and yesterday got all the blame.

Today the world has become disjointed;
making multitudes feel all alone;
some claim they’ve become the anointed;
seeking to reign on their throne.

Small towns, all over, have become rebuilt;
nothing at all looks the same;
the past is like flowers; beginning to wilt;
modernization gets all the blame.

Each individual life will someday be worn down;
dilapidated and ravaged from age;
some, who are wise, will be replaced by a clown;
as life turns, yet another page.

It has often been said, that history is repeated;
we meet ourselves coming and going;
every semblance of love is becoming deleted;
finding ourselves competing; not growing.

So what ever happened to yesterday;
anyone with wisdom will know;
yesterday simply morphed into today;
proving, we reap what we sow.
