We Can’t Take It Back

Many have given their lives to the Master;
tho few remain steadfast and pure;
turning our back, can result in disaster;
righteousness has its own detour.

How can we turn our backs on the truth;
what is it that leads us astray?
The evil within, demands we have proof;
and evil then leads us away.

Every thought, ever entering our mind;
even thoughts; most inconceivable;
must flow like a river; not be left behind;
all of our thoughts are irretrievable.

Try to dismiss any thought of your choice;
even though you fall on your knees;
all thoughts appear to have their own voice;
it’s like trying to hold back the seas.

Thoughts, like words, take on an identity;
characters in the book of life;
very few thoughts, lead to serenity;
many, cut like a knife.

The upper kingdom is a realm of thought;
for all those with eyes to see;
on the anvil of destiny, reality is wrought;
whatsoever is thought; shall be.

Evil thoughts bring us to reality’s brink;
self restraint is what most lack.
physical and mental are always in sync;
we can’t take our thoughts back.
