Vacation From Reality
My mind keeps wandering; day to day,
places my body can’t follow,
praying rescue shall come my way,
while, in sorrows, I wallow.
My thoughts enjoy a different place,
devoid of life’s disruptions,
within myself, I feel God’s grace,
without man’s corruptions.
I haven’t a thought, where I’m going,
just allowing time to drone on
meanwhile my soul keeps growing
thinking I’ll soon be gone.
But, in a sense, I shall never be gone,
destiny grants no pardon
reality commands, I continue on
until I reach God’s garden.
I, who was created in timelessness
find myself obeying a clock
becoming honed in righteousness
a sheep; just one of the flock.
Now, I’m a part of this life illusion,
from reality; drifting apart
soon this life will come to conclusion,
when I share the Master’s heart.
Nothing physical can last forever,
all illusions must have finality
until an end comes to this endeavor;
I’m on a vacation from reality.
