Tomorrow Becomes Yesterday
I’ve lived many lives combined into one;
watching each day; become night;
yesterday’s gone; a new day’s begun;
I feel I’m drawn toward the light.
So many days have come; then passed;
wondering what I’ve done wrong;
how can I make this newest day last;
what can I do to hang on?
I’m searching for answers to pain and sorrow;
so I won’t make the same mistake;
I can’t change today; what about tomorrow;
why can’t destiny give me a break.
It’s said, we must live one day at a time;
tho destiny defines circumstance;
I still have another mountain to climb;
before I leave this world of chance.
In my twilight years: I’ve been blessed;
a talent to challenge my pride;
reason commands I complete this quest;
defining this world, from inside.
I’ve already explored endless yesterdays;
encompassing many seasons;
I await tomorrow; becoming today;
still searching for life’s reasons.
It’s midnight now, a new day dawns;
tomorrow becomes yesterday
it’s become clear; life simply moves on;
till there is no more today.
