To Serve Others
This world has become a kingdom of takers;
most of them think they’re entitled;
others, now rich, become movers and shakers;
their arrogance, has become unriveled.
Good neighbors have become in short supply;
at a time; when so many are in need;
even honest people, are learning how to lie;
if a lie would help them succeed.
We were created to become servants of God;
what gives so many people such nerve;
although the multitude may find it quite odd;
servants are here to serve.
We were never created to take more than give;
such was not to become the servant’s role;
giving is the way we’re commanded to live;
God’s love inhabits a servant’s soul.
Love is the greatest gift, God has given;
he gave it to all of us, to share;
those who love their neighbors; are forgiven;
for God commanded we care.
We blindly walk in a world filled with need;
attempting to get what we can get;
the arrogant stand by and watch them bleed;
without even a hint of regret.
Many have forgotten we’re created to serve;
some even steal from their mothers
no true servant would ever have the nerve;
God’s servants are here to serve others.
