To Last A Lifetime

Every body is matched to one soul;
created to last for a lifetime;
the soul provides the energy role;
for, it is the body’s lifeline.

No two lifetimes are exactly the same;
for each one, has it’s own role;
within their parameters, each must frame;
the assignment given their soul.

The length of a lifetime is insignificant;
its depth is what really resounds;
if within a few years, one is magnificent;
the effect of his impact abounds.

It’s not, so much what you say and do;
it’s more about who you become;
when this lifetime, of yours, is through;
you and the Master, must be one.

Destiny has laid out a path, before you;
a journey, only you can take;
there’s something you must learn or do;
in order that your pride will break.

God is our shepherd; and we, his sheep;
and, where he goes, we must follow;
for whatever we sow; we shall reap;
false pride makes our promises hollow.

God has destined how long we’ll live;
a life span of the body is whenever;
when we learn to love and forgive;
a soul’s life lasts forever.
