There Is No Luck
There simply is no such thing as luck;
only a conflict of destiny and choice;
it’s just a fool’s way to pass the buck;
when you fail to hear God’s voice.
We face an endless array of choices;
suggesting the way we’re to go;
heaven and hell, each, lend their voices;
telling, what a wise man must know?
Many complain, “It’s the luck of the draw”
as tho playing a card game, like poker;
all think a cold hand; is destined to thaw;
but, the the last card drawn, is a joker.
Thinking we’re lucky; we keep taking chances;
there is no luck; neither good, nor bad;
gambling usually depletes all our finances.
such logic is iron clad.
Many trust in their luck, to fill their purse;
surely luck will change, and get better;
yet, often it changes; and luck gets worse;
luck is unpredictable; like the weather.
Luck is a name, given to destiny’s choice;
tho God allowed all to be free;
destiny is thought of as the Master’s voice;
alluding to what God meant it to be.
A fool is one; who wears luck as a charm;
such thinking is backward and odd;
luck, alone; won’t keep us from harm;
wisdom puts faith in God.
