The Wages Of Sin
The Wages Of Sin
Everything in life has a consequence;
and everything happens for a reason;
death once thought, a type of recompense;
is only a transition to another season.
There’s a cost assessed for our every sin;
a price for every transgression;
all of it; by the Master, is held within;
asking only love and confession.
The wages of our sin; were already paid;
although their cost was too high;
out of love; the Master’s decision, made;
the Son of God had to die.
What may we learn from another lifetime;
that we cannot learn from today;
those sins; once theirs; now become mine;
evil still strives to get his way.
Have we taken for granted, the cost was paid;
ignoring that the cost remains ongoing?
Sin marches throughout our lives on parade;
serving as the cost of growing.
Time marches on; and so does creation;
leaving countless wages, unpaid;
tho the price was paid, once, for salvation;
evil remains on parade.
All futures, recycled; soon become the past;
our share of the cost; commanded, above;
tragedies and heartaches, weren’t meant to last;
our wages for sin are love.
