The Voice Within

Many long to hear the Master’s voice;
speaking to them, aloud;
believing, that they are God’s choice;
and they have made God so proud.

They gladly pray in public places;
hoping that others draw near;
seeing embarassment in others’ faces;
if only God’s voice; they’d hear.

But, the Lord God has no need to shout;
His voice is lightning and thunder;
whenever he shouts; all will find out;
He often whispers when we slumber.

Many are those seeking the truth;
who don’t know where to begin;
all those, seeking; shall find proof;
it’s learned from voices; within

God is whispering to all prodigals, below;
tho our minds are rarely tuned in;
telling us truths; we already should know;
while reminding us of our sin.

Meanwhile, our ears are turned to the sky;
thinking the Master, far away;
not hearing a sound; we turn and cry;
thinking we’ll hear Him, another day.

We live in the kingdom of pictures and sound;
waiting for an audible voice to shout;
in the kingdom of heaven; where God is found;
it’s mind to mind; no sound comes out.

Faith is a direct link to the Master, above;
tho few of us know where to begin;
God is always whispering words of love;
we listen for sound; God speaks from within.
