The Ultimate Affront

In life; we’ve created a panoply of wrongs;
we’ve done many things we shouldn’t do;
with evil, we don’t do; we’re just “go alongs”
only God can make our lives new.

We’re all wicked; beyond understanding;
in search of God’s compassion;
for our forgiveness; we are demanding;
forgivesness to others; we ration.

We’ve come to expect that God will forgive;
for the Master is love, perfected;
still the Master despises the way we live;
over commands that we’ve rejected.

Yet, God can forgive everything we’ve done;
with only a single exception;
we must love and forgive everyone;
to remain in God’s protection.

Sometimes we forget the Master, we serve;
his commands are not suggestions;
refusing to forgive; displays our nerve;
making us salvation’s defections.

Some think that they’ll choose when to obey;
their Creator has loved them since birth;
beware, all ye prodigals, having your way;
your soul might become buried in earth.

Pride is the sin that keeps on living;
about it; we all must be blunt;
arrogance by man; requires forgiving;
for it is the ultimate affront.
