The Sword Of Love

In Eden’s garden; where born to dwell;
a sublime kingdom of thought, above;
a prodigal; banished to an earthly hell;
slain by perfection’s sword of love.

A prodigal heeded a serpent’s temptation;
seeking to usurp the King of Glory;
the serpent had sought his own coronation;
the Lord of Hosts was his quarry.

Evil was banished from the heavenly garden;
attempting to corrupt the Master’s will;
evil never sought a reprieve or a pardon;
he only lived to come back and kill.

The earth became evil’s permanent domain;
a place where he, and man, came to dwell;
where evil, himself, forever would reign;
this lower kingdom; described as hell.

Cherubim guarded the gate to Eden’s garden;
armed with the flaming sword of death;
man’s return would require love and a pardon;
and the physical man’s last breath.

The cherubim wielded God’s mystical sword;
holding the powers of death and life;
dividing eternity; and blessed by God’s word;
dividing the darkness and light.

The cherubim’s sword; sent life to a tomb;
casting him down from heaven above;
that same sword transitioned, into a womb;
for, it was the Master’s sword of love.
