The Success Of Failure

Most people dream of success;
our pride has its allure;
when we succeed; we are blessed;
better success; than failure.

Perhaps most have become short-sighted;
what does each of them bring?
Although success may get you knighted;
it will have no appeal to your king.

Success is a balloon filled with hot air;
the perfect mataphor of pride;
tho many will hate you, for being there;
they’ll still go along for the ride.

Success is often a most lonely path;
friends become enemies, soon;
sycophants; behind your back, laugh;
while saying, “you hung the moon.”

Sooner or later; pride’s bubble is burst;
your praises; no more, do they sing;
no longer able to appease pride’s thirst;
that pride cost you everything.

Pride, in life; can just take you so far;
envy then takes his turn;
that failure is better; seems bizarre;
but; in failures; all of us learn;

In failures; we gain; that which we seek;
that truth that was taught from birth;
once we have failed; we become meek;
and, the meek shall inherit the earth.
