The Strong Willed Child
Many children are strong willed and independent;
sometimes they seem to have gone wild;
some parents consider them almost transcendent;
others call them a strong willed child.
They are ones who do more than just get along;
often exceeding expected boundaries;
most observers would consider them headstrong;
their minds are mischievous foundries.
When they’re our children, we often ignore;
not accepting they’re out of control;
rude actions of others; we readily deplore;
all of them, are a part of God’s soul.
When a baby screams; we tend to accept it;
holding that baby in our arms;
when a full grown man screams; most reject it;
inside us; it sets off alarms.
We came here to learn about absolute truth;
and to follow the will of our Master;
many still rebel, demanding of us, proof;
rebellions always cause disaster.
The strong willed child is the devil’s tool;
but, despite the lies, they’ve uttered;
no child, made in God’s image, is a fool;
all know where their bread’s buttered;
The strong willed child; remains but a season;
pride was cast out of the garden above;
every experience carries the voice of reason;
perfection becomes, out of love.
