The Scrooge
The Scrooge
Some people tend to pinch every penny;
claiming to be thrify and smart;
many of those people already had plenty;
everyone was a scrooge, at heart.
No matter what they had; they wanted more;
there was no such thing as too much;
they were the ones who always kept score;
it seemed they had the Midas touch.
They became squirrels; storing for Winter;
their money had become like food;
at holding on to money; they’re no beginner;
just counting it; caused a festive mood.
Fools only live for money and power;
it’s become, their heaven, above;
gaining more, of each, every hour;
thinking money could buy love.
Others; seeing what money could bring;
following the fool’s example;
believing that money buys everything;
tho their supply of it; not ample.
The love for money, included the poor;
seeing how money served the rich;
what little, they had; they wanted more;
for money creates a special itch.
In heaven, it had become a very sad day;
as God looked down, from above;
crying when He saw us live this way;
choosing money; rather than love;
