The Sands Of Time
The Sands Of Time
Sand drops down through the hourglass;
representing the passage of time;
the knowledge and wisdom, all amass;
sending off sparks of the divine.
Grains of sand; down lifes’s river, flow;
not a single grain can remain above;
from the kingdom above; to one, below;
life represents the mystery of love.
The hourglass is the symbol of a lifetime;
for both the evil; and the devout;
we’re each given a dawn and a night time;
when our time is destined to run out.
The river of life treats us all the same;
all lifetimes are carefully measured;
each will return, to from where they came;
and whatever they learn is treasured.
The hourglass is the womb of life and death;
first transitioning from day into night;
the sands fall down, to their very last breath;
reality flips; returning to the Light.
All our days in the hourglass are numbered;
like the hairs on our head are counted;
the sorrows or tragedies, we’ve encumbered
lead to our becoming well-rounded.
Once we’ve completed our appointed task;
the hourglass of time is turned on its head;
each solitary life; we thought be our last;
we enter a new dawn, of life, instead.
