The Quandary

All of reality is an immense puzzle;
everything; a state of perplexity;
my mind; a state of constant befuddle;
for reality, indeed, is a quandary.

We think we see everything clearly,
but it’s all a construct of mind;
we each hold this world so dearly;
without having reality defined.

All of this world and everything in it;
constructed; brought about by thought;
we were all here to begin it;
and we think it’s all as we’re taught.

We think of our lives as a linear creation;
born; that someday we’ll die;
from other life forms;  a deviation;
but reality says that’s a lie.

The truth: we know nothing of reality;
and how all this world came about;
from logic and sense we often flee;
seeking solace, from the devout.

All our theories leave us uncertainty;
it’s all best described as a pickle;
conscious awareness; undefinable you see;
leaving scientists seemingly fickle.

There is no theory on which we rely,
for which scientists will fall on their sword;
all, prompting believers to swiftly reply:
that nobody knows, but the Lord.
