The Purpose Of Sorrow

Sadness and sorrow are spices of life
essential ingredients of a feast;
tho, as thoughts; they cut like a knife;
bread cannot rise without yeast.

Life must have both sunrise and night;
for both are in some ways equal;
sunrise brought dawn into the light;
death made night its sequel.

Sorrow is the expediter of most change;
its roots lie hidden neath the surface;
allowing destiny, itself, to rearrange;
satisfying God’s will and purpose.

Sorrow tells us that life isn’t fair;
originally, the devil’s suggestion;
of the messenger; all must beware;
most sorrows lead to confession.

Happiness was created the season of joy;
it cannot forever remain;
its purpose is much like a child’s toy;
meant to just entertain.

Sadness was created the season of death;
for it’s out of our sadness, we cry;
only our body has its last breath;
the physical illusion must die.

A new dawn shall be coming very soon;
when God wipes all tears from our eyes
the tomb transforms into a womb;
for it’s only death that dies.
