The Price Of Guilt

The Price Of Guilt

Often thoughts or acts, bring us much guilt;
ashamed of what we’ve thought or done;
in sweltering heat; even a flower may wilt;
our guilt is like the heat from the sun.

Evil appears in all shapes, colors, or sizes;
guilt can make our faces turn red;
in spite of all our excuses or surmises;
guilt makes us wish we were dead.

There is no such thing as a little sin;
it’s a treacherous path to follow;
once our rebellion starts to begin;
in constant guilt; we wallow.

Excuses are our path to justification;
we have reasons for whatever done;
our guilt then leads to capitulation;
and evil will have ultimately won.

Evil has sought to purchase our soul;
temptation has led us astray;
it is our innocence, evil has stole;
our guilt is the price we pay.

We think only those close, know the truth;
not aware how wrong we can be;
and, even those who know; have no proof;
if only we had eyes to see.

The Master’s angels, abide, all around;
all guilty had better think twice;
they see everything; hear every sound;
guilt carries a mighty high price.
