The Pain To Grow
Growth is always accompanied by pain;
for it is the limit; self-imposed;
while reaching out to achieve some gain;
for it’s how the body grows.
Every cell that’s within, keeps beseaching;
expanding to some self-appointed role;
in the spirit, we’re constantly reaching;
to enhance the growth of the soul.
For it’s only through pain, the body grows;
stretching to reach to heights unknown;
and deep within, the consciousness knows;
neither mind or body is ever alone.
The soul, itself, endures pain, as well;
sorrows and sadness take their toll;
emotional pain becomes emotional hell;
creating a greater depth of the soul.
Pain is something we all try to avoid;
we’ll experience growth without it;
but, pain is the method God employed;
there can be no doubt about it.
Pain is the reminder of all sacrifices;
including those we caused the Master;
it’s the most successful of all devices;
teaching us our lessons, much faster.
A thorn in the flesh keeps us meek;
and pride announces a coming fall;
for each of us has promises to keep;
given us, by the Lord of all.
