The New Leaf

The New Leaf

I’m the new growth in the Master’s creation;
lost in the midst of his infinite reality;
not likely to cause a big splash, or sensation;
tho giving evidence of creation’s duality.

By myself, I’m an example of insignificance;
a solitary leaf, falling on the ground;
created through an act of omnipotence;
how else could a leaf be around?

I started my life, like a bud on a tree;
very unique; yet, like all the others;
not yet understanding, what I was to be;
one among billions of sisters and brothers.

A droplet of green on the eternal life tree;
on my growth, I was expected to rely;
I had not an inkling of what I was to be;
but, I knew I’d grow old, and then die.

Somehow I knew, that I was much more;
on deeper thoughts, I’d come to rely;
my illusion of life was merely an encore;
consciousness is not destined to die.

I was first conceived on the tree of life;
in the midst of Eden’s garden;
sent to earth to suffer hardships and strife;
before gaining the Master’s pardon.

Some day, my leaf will wither, and die;
its remains, will find a home in the ground;
none ought feel sorrow; or tempted to cry;
for my consciousness will still be around.
